Aruna's shapeshifting powers manifested at a
very early age. Because of the speed at which she changed form, her parents
were unsure of her true gender. She and her parents, classified as
the lowest of the lowest classes in India called the Untouchables, lived
isolated, away from other people. When she was a young girl, two unknown
men showed up and took her parents away. That was the last she ever saw of
them. Aruna, her true name unknown to her, eventually became one of
the top stunt persons in India due to her shapeshifting ability. After
working briefly with Batman and Batgirl , who were in India on a kidnapping
case, Aruna decided to use her powers to fight injustice and intolerance
in her native country.
