Dr. Selma Tolon, a member of the Turkish relief
group, the Red Crescent, was assisting survivors of a series of earthquakes
that had devastated parts of Turkey. She came across the mystical artifacts
she carries when trapped underneath a devasted building. These artifacts
had been hidden by Merlin centuries early after the defeat of Sultan Suleiman
the Great at the hands of Etrigan the Demon. She has dedicated herself to
defending her country of Turkey. Recently, Etrigan has taken interest
in The Janissary as he hopes to obtain the Eternity Book.
| SPECIAL POWERS AND
WEAPONS |
The Janissary carries the magical Eternity Book
of the wizard Merlin, allowing her to cast magical spells, although she has
not mastered the use of it yet. She also wields the mystical scimitar of
the Sultan Suleiman the Great. These artifacts have given her great
strength, stamina, fighting prowess and the ability to fly.
She is a devout Muslim and has teamed on
at least one occasion with the Justice League.
